Stock records

Some stock movements are not created in Inventory: the document that causes them raises them. A shipment or an invoice takes goods out, a sales return or a credit note brings them back, a debit note sends them back to a vendor. Inventory keeps a record of each, so you can see every movement in one place.

A goods issue records goods that left a warehouse for a customer.

Go to Inventory ‣ Stock records ‣ Goods issues. Each row shows the Doc no., the Date, the Warehouse, the Reference of the document that raised it and its Status. Open a row to see its lines, the location and lot each line left from, its unit cost, and the journal entry under Related.

A goods issue is raised when a shipment ships, or when an invoice is posted for goods no shipment has sent.

Go to Inventory ‣ Inbound ‣ Customer returns to see goods customers sent back. A sales return or a credit note raises the return when it is received or posted. Goods in good condition go back to a standard location; goods needing inspection go to the warehouse’s Quarantine location, and goods that cannot be sold to its Scrap location.

Go to Inventory ‣ Outbound ‣ Vendor returns to see goods sent back to vendors. A debit note raises the vendor return when it is posted, and the goods leave stock.

These records have no Void of their own. To undo one, cancel or void the document that raised it: cancelling a shipped shipment, for example, voids its goods issue and brings the stock back.
