Store customers
A shopper is a customer like any other. There is no separate store account: the first time a shopper signs in to your store’s app with a code sent to their phone, Axon finds the customer with that phone number, or creates one in Sales. From then on the shopper’s orders, invoices and payments are on that customer, beside everything you sell them by other routes.
Find the customers who signed up
Section titled “Find the customers who signed up”Sign-up needs no approval. A shopper can order as soon as they have signed in.
- Go to Sales ‣ Master data ‣ Customers.
- Open a customer to see their orders, balance and addresses.
A shopper who signs up starts with the defaults your Sales settings give new customers, and belongs to the subsidiary of the area they signed up in:
| The shopper signs up as | The customer is created as |
|---|---|
| An individual | Type Individual, named by their phone number until they enter their name in the app. |
| A business, where your app offers it | Type Business, named by the company name, with the VAT number as Tax ID and the commercial registration as Company reg. no. A business cannot rename itself in the app. |
The addresses a shopper saves in the app, up to five, belong to the customer and carry the pin they dropped, so every store order has a delivery location.
Let an existing customer use the app
Section titled “Let an existing customer use the app”A customer you already sell to can order in the app without a new account. Axon matches them by phone number when they sign in.
- Open the customer from Sales ‣ Master data ‣ Customers and click Edit.
- Check that Phone or Mobile holds the number they will sign in with, in international form: a plus sign, the country code and the number, with no spaces.
- Check the customer’s Subsidiary is the one that serves their area, or empty.
- Click Save.
When they sign in, the app opens on their existing account, with their balance, terms and price list. Keep each phone number on one customer only: when two customers share the number, the shopper is refused at sign-in until you remove it from one of them.
Give a customer their own prices
Section titled “Give a customer their own prices”By default a shopper pays the prices of the area they order in. A customer with a price list of their own sees that list’s prices instead.
- Open the customer, click Edit and open the Sales tab.
- Pick the Price list.
- Click Save.
The app shows the customer’s prices from their next visit. The area’s price list still decides which items and units are offered and their Min qty; an item missing from the customer’s list cannot be ordered by them.
Hold a customer to a credit limit
Section titled “Hold a customer to a credit limit”A store order is checked against the customer’s Credit limit when it is placed, as any order is. Depending on your Sales settings, an order over the limit goes on Credit hold or is refused. See Decide what happens over the credit limit.
A business customer sees their Credit limit and Balance in the app, on their account.
Stop a customer from ordering
Section titled “Stop a customer from ordering”- Open the customer and click Edit.
- Switch off Active.
- Click Save.
The shopper is refused at their next sign-in and told the account is inactive. Switch Active back on to let them in again.
When a shopper deletes their account
Section titled “When a shopper deletes their account”A shopper can delete their account from the app. The customer is archived in Sales, and their past orders, invoices and payments stay as they were. The same phone number can sign up again later, and becomes a new customer.
A customer with an open order or an amount owing cannot be archived, so the app refuses to delete the account until both are settled.
