Sales settings

The Sales settings hold the rules a subsidiary sells by: what an order must carry, how far a discount may go, what happens when a customer is over their credit limit, and the terms a new customer starts on. Each subsidiary has its own. This page covers the settings that change how Sales works today.

  1. Go to Settings ‣ Configuration ‣ System settings, then open the Sales tab.
  2. Open the Orders tab and set the fields below.
  3. Click Save changes.
Field What it sets
Max lines per order Maximum number of line items per order. A longer order is refused.
Min order amount Minimum total before an order can be placed. 0 means no minimum.
Max discount % The highest discount on a whole document. Only roles allowed to change prices may go above it.
Quote expiry days Days until a quote expires, used when a quotation leaves Expiry (days) empty.
Require warehouse Orders must have a warehouse assigned before they are saved.
Require delivery date Orders must have a delivery date specified.

The rules apply to every order, whoever raises it: on this screen, in the rep app or from the online store. Max discount % also applies to quotations and invoices.

To stop line discounts altogether, open the Commissions tab and switch off Line-level discounts. Discounts can then be given only on the whole document, except by roles allowed to change prices.

When an order would take a customer past their credit limit, Axon Suite either refuses it or puts it on Credit hold for someone to release.

  1. Go to Settings ‣ Configuration ‣ System settings, then open the Sales tab.
  2. To refuse such orders, switch on Credit limit check on the Features tab and Block orders on credit hold on the Credit tab.
  3. To hold them instead, switch off Block orders on credit hold.
  4. Click Save changes.

Orders saved from then on follow the new rule; orders already on hold stay there until released. See Hold an order for credit. The credit limit itself is set on each customer; see Credit limits.

  1. Go to Settings ‣ Configuration ‣ System settings, then open the Sales tab.
  2. Open the Defaults tab and pick the values below.
  3. Click Save changes.
